completely Chung ❤

She's one of my ultimate-crush; I love her style, her hair (her ex-boyfriend...), her smile and most of her outfits...
She inspired me everyday when I'm in front of my warderobe! She made me like flat shoes and as her, I appreciate slim pants, babydoll dresses and put my shirt in my pants or skirt too.

So, happy 30th birthday, Alexa!

Picture from her book :)

Alex + Alex (music review)

Twitter, Pinterest

1. Alex (Kapranos) = Franz Ferdinand

FOUR YEARS after Tonight (which unfortunately hadn't much success...even if I really really like their funny lyrics ('Twilight Omens', 'Ulysses', 'No you girls',...)), here are 10 new songs!
Okay, I don't (already) understand everything they say ("We're fresh strawberries..."*/"Car keys choose your keys..."**), but their music still sounds as FF but with some very nice improvements (choir, rythme, trumpets or hypnotic chorus).
And Alex's voice is great, excited and sexy with his improbable tones. This is a great album to dance, jump, run or to make some exercice :)
So, yes, I love this album and it could become my favourite one!

2. Alex (Turner) = Arctic Monkeys

Okay, I already wrote about this album (here), but I was OBLIGED to make a review. Why? It is awesome! Okay, Alex's voice is soooooooo sexy, but music is amazing (bass on 'Knee socks' or 'I want it all', guitar on 'Do I wanna know?' or drums on 'Snap out of it'), more mature and lyrics are still good ("Secrets that I have held in my heart are harder to hide that I thought..."*** / "I can't explain but I want to try, There's this image of you and I..."****)
One negative point? I worried they'll become too American...because, yes, we feel this sunny hip-hop californian influence on their work. Not bad. Yet.
Love it, but should be my 2nd favourite of their albums ; 1st = Worst Favourite Nightmare...

"I'll meet you coming backwards
I'll meet you coming back
When the universe has expanded
Time will contract
You'll come back..."

> Franz Ferdinand

"And her lips are like the galaxy's edge
And a kiss the colour of a constelation
falling into place..."

> Arctic Monkeys

* 'Fresh Strawberries'
** 'Brief Encounters'
*** 'I wanna be yours'
**** 'Fireside'

“I wrote your name
Upon the back of my hand
Slept upon it then I woke up
With it backwards on my face
Reading forwards
From my mirror to my heart…”   > Franz Ferdinand

"R U mine?" I wanna know

I'm really really really really happyyyyyyyyyy  to I have some tickets to see Arctic Monkeys live at a festival nearby!!!!

Yes, I already told you about my love for Alex Turner (here and here) and when I listened to their last hypnotic song (Do I wanna know) I had an auditory orgasm... I   him and his amazing voice !!  So, if he agrees, I'm his!

“I dreamt about you nearly every night this week
How many secrets can you keep?
Cause there’s this tune I found that makes me think of you somehow
When I play it on repeat
Until I fall asleep
Spilling drinks on my settee

And I’m sorry to interrupt
It’s just I’m constantly on the cusp
Of trying to kiss you
I don’t know if you feel the same as I do
We could be together if you wanted to…”         >  Arctic Monkeys

dis-moi oui, Andy*

My new musical crush : Andy Burrows!
This blond English guy is an ex-member of Razorlight, We are Scientists and now works in solo, what I love!

“If I had a heart,
 I would've let you go
And if I had a heart.
Well I wonder would I know
 That we're still miles away
 Still running and hiding
 If I had a heart,
 Was good to you,
What good would that do now?”    > Andy Burrow

"This is the most important hour of your week"

The Hour. I watched the entire second season of this British series - starring Ben Whishaw as Freddie Lyon -  in one week. I completely loved the plot, characters, clothes and, most of all, the 50's vintage atmosphere!
For me, it is a great series to see!

I see life in black&white

Hurts.
yes, again...
still a week!

I saw them live and their show has the same stark gloomy melancholic universe which is already present in their songs and the design of their albums.

Can't wait more!

"No love, no light, no end inside
And I’m looking for a miracle
And I’m looking for a miracle
But I hope, I pray, and I will fight
Cause I’m looking for a miracle
Cause I’m looking for a miracle

There’s a place I wanna go
And a life I wanna know..."   > Hurts

March will be my favourite month for the year...

Just because I'm waiting for the  new album of Hurts, one of my favourite bands (which will be available on the 11th March!!!). I discovered this band during summer 2010 with the song Wonderful Life and when I bought their CD, I just fell in love!

The duet created its own world and atmosphere, compared to most of the bands which only have a theme and ambience for each album. I'm hardly sure that they will still have the same, even in 10 or 20 years.

So I 'm just looking forward their new songs (I already ADORE Miracle and Sandman!)!!!

Are you looking for something better?
Can you ever feel emptiness?..."             > HURTS

PS: To be able to wait until March 11,  Miles Kane released his new song today! :)

Love, love me do...

No, I'm not talking about my love life...this is the 50th birthday of The Beatles' song Love Me Do!!
I think they deserve a post, don't they?
I would be there, in 1962...for dresses, haircut, music and atmosphere...

PS: This is the 50th birthday of Bond...James Bond too. (for my mum!)

"Love, love me do.
You know I love you,
I'll always be true,
So please,
Love me do.
Love, love me do.
You know I love you,
I'll always be true,
So please,
Love me do.
Someone to love,
Somebody new.
Someone to love,
Someone like you.
Love, love me do.
You know I love you,
I'll always be true,
So please,
Love me do.
Love, love me do.
You know I love you,
I'll always be true,
So please,
Love me do"

a-MUSE-ment

I was impatient to hear Muse's new album even if I was quite disappointed by their two first singles...

And so?

First impression : good. I was worried about it, because I  read/heard a lot of things (randomly : chaos, Queen, dubstep, physics, opera, electro...), but music is great (containing all those elements) and not too commercial (OK, it is, but music is really great!)

They've got lots of influences (Big Freeze sounds like U2, some moments are like Queen and Panic Station makes me think about INXS) and new things (electro sounds and Chris's voice (the bassist) on 2 songs he wrote himself (Save me and Liquid State))
The first song is amazing (could be a superhero-movie soundtrack, mixing classical music and rock as it was the case in the smart The Resistance), but the two last ones are a bit scary...annoucement of the end of the world?

Now I just want to see them performing in a stadium (if you doubt, listen to Follow me or Supremacy)

Bright Brighton

I went to Brighton for few days.
I've never been there before and I really liked this town with The Lanes, The Pier and the seaside, parcs, buildings and very friendly people (and handsome guys)! Besides that, I saw the sun (and even got a little more tan)!
Ah, and I bought a new pair of shoes too...they are...hum...brighton!!!
So, here a selection of my pictures...

"Do you want to go to the seaside?
I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go
I fell in love at the seaside
She handled her charm with time and sleight of hand, and oh

But I'm just trying to love you
Any kind of way
But I find it hard to love you girl
When you're far away
Away..."                                          > The Kooks

(deep) Purple

Even if one of my best friends hates this colour, I completely love it : purple!
(and I found the perfect purple nail polish (from Kiko)!)

And today's a special day too!
Why?
First day of the Olympic Games*?
Well, no, in fact, this is the 1st year of my blog's existance!
When I started, one year ago, I wanted first to share my drawings and sketches, but I quickly realized that I had a lot of photographs to show and passions to talk about.
That's why I really want to thank you for visiting this blog, for (the few) messages you left and to make it be "alive".
I'm always surprised when I see how many visits I got and how far people are from too (United States, Russia, United Kingdom or Venezuela, Turkey or Indonesia...and so on) and it proves me that there are not only my friends who are checking it...

“On the other side of a downward spiral
My love for you went viral
And I loved you every mile you drove away
But now here you are again
So let's skip the "how you been"
And get down to the "more than friends" at last…”        > Train

* did you watch Arctic Monkeys playing in the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony ?? No, check here! to listen or here to watch! (I'll marry Alex Turner one day...)

Liverpool, I ♥ U

One month ago, I was in Liverpool, a nice, fashionable, musical, cultural and so wonderful city with a lot of things to do/see/visit/eat/discover...! Do you know the "lambanana"? I didn't, but it is so great (that is the mix of a lamb and a banana, it is against MGO too).
Plus, people were very friendly even if they have a strong accent...and I met the man of my life ; the super-cute stadium guide, James!
So, here, I just want to share with you a little selection of my pictures!

"Close your eyes and I'll kiss you
Tomorrow I'll miss you
Remember I'll always be true
And then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
And I'll send all my loving to you

I'll pretend that I'm kissing
The lips I am missing
And hope that my dreams will come true
And then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
And I'll send all my loving to you

All my loving I will send to you
All my loving, darling I'll be true..."   > The Beatles   (Off course ^^)
